Privacy Policy
Last updated 18 July 2026
This policy explains what personal information iGloo (“we”, operated by Daom Ltd, New Zealand) collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to iglooapp.com and the communities hosted on it.
1. Information we collect
Account data you give us: your name, email address, password (stored only as a salted hash), and any profile details or bio you add.
Content you create: posts, comments, chat messages, course progress, event RSVPs, and answers to a community’s joining questions.
Usage & device data: log data such as IP address, browser type, and pages viewed, used to keep the service secure and working.
Payment data: purchases are processed by our payment provider (GoCushy). We do not see or store your full card details — we receive only a confirmation of what you bought.
2. How we use it
To provide and secure the service, create and manage your account, deliver the communities, courses and events you join, send transactional email (sign-in links, password resets, notifications), and — where a community owner has connected an autoresponder — pass the details you provided at join time to that owner’s email tool.
3. Sharing
We share personal information only with: (a) the owner/admins of a community you join, who can see your membership and the content you post there; (b) service providers who run parts of the platform on our behalf (hosting, email delivery, payment processing) under confidentiality obligations; and (c) authorities where required by law. We never sell your personal information.
4. Cookies
We use strictly-necessary cookies to keep you signed in and to protect against fraud. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
5. Retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. When you close your account we delete or anonymise your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we must keep records to meet legal, accounting, or security obligations.
6. Your rights
You can access, correct, or delete your personal information, and object to or restrict certain processing. Manage most details in your account settings, or email us to make a request. If you are in the EEA/UK you have rights under the GDPR; in New Zealand, under the Privacy Act 2020.
7. Security
Passwords are hashed, traffic is encrypted in transit, and access to production data is restricted. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you of a breach where the law requires.
8. Changes & contact
We may update this policy; material changes will be posted here with a new date. Questions or requests: support@iglooapp.com.
